Sharon Atkins is a Psychologist working in the healthcare industry since 1992. Her first working placement was in an Early Intervention Centre in NSW for special needs. Sharon Atkins is a Psychologist working in the healthcare industry since 1992. Her first working placement was in an Early Intervention Centre in NSW for special needs. Since 1994 Sharon has worked in a variety of health care settings including immigration detention, rehabilitation, hospital environments in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom and health projects in Zambia and Ethiopia. Previously as the National Clinical Advisor- Psychology for a large organisation Sharon had been involved working with and setting up the Royal Commission: Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, 1800Respect, BeyondBlue, and other federal and state government contracts. More recently working with her own company Sharon has worked in the private sector in the delivery of best practice clinically appropriate services, under Medicare, PHN, NDIS and for rural and remote services along with mining organisations to ensure mental health service provision to individuals, groups and corporate clients. Sharon enjoys working within the mental health and disability space across the life span in a variety of contexts, with more recently a particular interest in working with children for early intervention services and is part of the Rare Chromosomal International Group, Unique. Sharon has created the Merry Burrow Interactive Therapy Centre to provide the latest technologies in Psychological therapies combining Virtual Reality Therapies along with Immersive Interactive Programs for a range of presentations including but not limited to TBI, ABI, Neurodevelopmental Delays, Autism, Chromosomal Syndromes and Intellectual Disabilities.Sharon is also registered with the NDIS as a Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner, and can provide comprehensive Behaviour Support, Training, Therapies and Best practice models to support and nurture each individual, along with their families, to help each individual reach their full potential.
James has recently started working as our Allied Health Assistant and enjoys assisting with the groups. James is interactive and engaging keeping up with the kids and latest technologies.
